Hi, I’m Katie Fogarty
I launched A Certain Age 35 days before my 51st birthday—because I couldn't find a podcast that celebrated midlife, so I built it.
I'm a journalist, career coach, and founder of The Reboot Group, a coaching company that has helped thousands of executives from Fortune 500 companies tell better career stories.
Before podcasting became my sixth act, I worked as a TV news writer, at global PR firms, on Capitol Hill, and even as an English teacher in Japan. I know a thing or two about midlife reinvention.
That background shapes every conversation I have on this show. I know how to ask the questions that get to the heart of things—and I know firsthand what it feels like to be navigating a new chapter with no roadmap.
A native New Yorker, I recently made my own midlife move—selling our family home of 20 years and heading back to New York City when our youngest left for college.
Empty nest, new chapter, new zip code. Let’s go!
